Professional Leadership

My professional and personal experiences have shaped the way I approach leadership, finances, decision-making and public service.

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus on ethics and economic development and am a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with more than 30 years of experience in accounting and taxation. For 20 of those years, I worked with the Canada Revenue Agency as a criminal investigator and corporate income tax/HST auditor.

That career required more than an understanding of numbers. It required careful analysis, attention to detail, an ability to distinguish assumptions from facts, and the willingness to ask difficult questions when the numbers didn’t make sense.

Those are skills I believe matter at the Council table.

I also proudly served 17 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, serving across Canada, Europe and the Middle East. Military service taught me leadership, discipline, teamwork and something equally important—the responsibility that comes with serving others.

Over the past eight years, I have also continued to closely follow Township finances, budgets, operations and Council decisions. I have attended meetings, reviewed reports and financial documents, asked questions and shared what I learned with residents.

As a result, I wouldn’t be starting from scratch.

I would bring to Council a combination of financial knowledge, municipal experience, analytical skills and a lifetime of leadership and service—experience that can be put to work for Ward 1 from day one.
